Nomiはデンマークのメーカーから発売された子供向けハイチェアです。その名前は人間工学を意味する「Ergonomic（エルゴノミック）」に由来したものです。デザイナーのピーター・オプスヴィックはノルウェーで工業デザインを学んだのち、座ることで自然に良い姿勢へと導く「バランスチェア」を長年にわたって開発し、国際的な賞を多数受賞しています。 Nomiは、「子供のどんな動きもしっかり支える椅子が、子供の動きを制限せず自由な座り方を生む」という哲学のもとに設計されました。成長に合わせてガードなどのオプションパーツを使用したり、シートやフットレストの調整をしたりして、大人になるまで快適に座り続けられます。（解説／株式会社ロイヤルファニチャーコレクション）デンマーク 2013年6月発売　日本 2016年4月発売 ¥43,000（税抜き）

omi is a children’s high chair made by a Danish company. The name comes from the word “ergonomic” which refers to the science of people and their conditions, particularly in order to improve effectiveness. Peter Opsvik, the designer, studied industrial design in Norway, has received many international awards for his deve-lopment of the “balance chair” over the years, which naturally induces good pos-ture by sitting in it. The Nomi chair was designed with the philosophy of creating a chair that supports any movement of the child, and doesn’t limit their movements and allows them to sit in any way they please. The parts can be adjusted to suit the stage of growth, and the seat and footrest can also be adjusted for comforta-ble well into adulthood as well. There are many kinds of children’s high chairs, but the style of this particular type, where the elements are attached to a single frame, has a lightness to it that gives it the air of a new generation.
