ヘバーデン リングは手指の第一関節を固定するための医療機器であり、主にヘバーデン結節の患者様が使用する。ヘバーデン結節とは、手指の第一関節が変形して疼痛を生じる変性疾患であり、極めて頻度の高い疾患であると考えられている。40代以上の女性によくみられる疾患のため、アクセサリー感覚で装着いただけるようにデザインした。原材料にはやわらかい金属である錫（すず）を使用しているため、指の太さや変形に合わせて適宜調節ができる。テーピングなどと違い水に濡れても安心である。

手指の第一関節が変形し曲がってしまう原因不明疾患のヘバーデン結節のための添木。患者はサポーターとして日常的に装着する必要があるが医療機器としてありがちなネガティブなアピアランスを錫の持つシルバーの質感によるアクセサリー的な要素が払しょくし、ユーザーは医療機器を超えた愉しみを感じながら積極的に使用することができるため、QOL向上やウェルネスビーイングの効果も示唆している。

Heberden Ring is a medical equipment to fix the first joint of fingers in position, aimed mainly for patients with Heberden's node. Heberden's node is a degenerative disease in which the first joint of fingers is deformed, causing pain. It is considered to be an extremely common disease, and as it is especially common among women over fourties, we designed the ring to be worn like a fashion accessory. It can be adjusted to the diameter of the finger and the degree of deformation, as it is made of tin that is a soft metal with flexibility. Unlike typical taping, it is water-resistant.

This is a splint for deformed fingers joints with Heberden’s node, which the cause is still unknown. Although this product is medical equipment that patients need to wear every day for support, the accessory-like quality of the product with the silver texture of tin material eliminates the negative image. Users can wear it with joy beyond its function as medical equipment, and it offers improvement in QOL and well-being.
