さくらさくえんぴつは、従来の鉛筆と外観の規格は同じものの、芯を半分しか内蔵しておらず、上端近くに穴を設け、サクラソウの種を封入しています。削って持ちにくくなる前に芯がなくなるため、芯を無駄なく使いきれるようになっています。芯がなくなったのを契機に、種を封入しているテープをはがし、種をまくことで、サクラソウを育てることができます。この鉛筆は、緑の循環やカーボンニュートラル、また、ユーザーの自然環境保護への意識の芽生えを促そうと考えつくられました。他に、芯と同じ色の花が咲く、実がなるという色鉛筆もございます。

鉛筆を最も使用するのは小学生だろうか。環境問題、とは言われているが、短くなった鉛筆はやはりゴミ箱に捨てられる運命だろう。だがこの鉛筆には花の種が入っている。使い終わった鉛筆は捨てる、という選択肢から、土に植える、という新たな選択肢を得た。終わりを迎えたものが生まれ変わる。それを目のあたりにする。とても身近なところで。新たな物語も始まるだろう。その先の、楽しい日々を予感させてくれるプロダクトだ。

The sakurasakuenpitsu looks like a conventional pencil on the outside, but it only contains half the lead. The rest is filled with primrose seeds through a hole near the top end of the pencil. Before the pencil becomes too short to hold, the lead is used up without waste. Once the lead is gone, users can peel off the tape containing the seeds to sow and grow primroses. This pencil was designed and created to raise awareness towards green circulation, carbon neutrality, and environmental conservation. In addition, there are colored pencils containing the seeds to bloom flowers or bear fruit in the same color as the lead.

Perhaps it is the elementary school students who use pencils most. Although we are becoming more aware of environmental issues, shortened pencils are destined to be thrown away in the bin. However, this pencil contains flower seeds. Thus we now have an alternative option of planting used pencils in the soil, instead of throwing them away. Before our own eyes, we would witness the rebirth of what has come to an end. A new story may begin. It is a product that makes us anticipate a joyful future.
