海苔の佃煮などの瓶詰商品を「佃煮が少し瓶に残る…」「最後まで残さず使い切りたい…」というユーザー様の意見に応え、ガラス瓶を設計から見直し、中身が残らない瓶に新化させました。中身が残る原因である肩部内側の凹みを、底から瓶口までストレートにすることで、引っ掛かりが無くなり、残さず中身を出すことが可能になりました。ストレート構造は、瓶口が広くなり、自然と中身を取り出しやすくなります。キャップ同士の接触による誤開封を防ぐため、外側に帯状のラインをつけた独特の形状をしています。

「瓶のフチに残る中身」を無くすための答えが「くびれのないストレート瓶」である。一見するとコロンブスの卵のような回答に思えるが、その実際は生易しくない。ベルトコンベア上の瓶は速いスピードで流されるため、瓶と瓶が衝突した際の衝撃により破損してしまうからである。瓶の外側にある出っ張りがその問題を解消する工夫なのだが、この形状にたどり着くまでに約2年の年月を費やしたという。まさに努力の賜物である。

Jarred products such as seaweed paste often have dif.culty using it to the end, frustrating many users. It is due to the contents clinging to the edge of the jar opening, for the opening of the jar is smaller than the diameter of the jar itself. We redesigned the glass jars to solve such a problem. Our new design is shaped like a cylinder, with the same diameter from the bottom to the opening, so that the contents can easily be scooped out. To prevent the caps from accidentally opening by jars bumping into each other, the jar has a ring-like bumper attached to the side, giving it a unique shape.

The straight-shaped jar without a neck is the solution to the remaining content at the edge of a jar. The answer seems almost deceptively easy, but the realization is not as simple. Jars on an assembly line move so fast that they could break from hitting each other. The bump on the outside is the design solution for such an issue, which took almost two years of struggling to come up with. The success is truly the result of their efforts.
